Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") explains what is not allowed when using the Chronicles Service. It applies to all users and is incorporated into the Chronicles Terms of Service.

1) Core Principle

Use the Service for legitimate conversational analytics. Do not use it to harm, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems, data, or users.

2) Security and Reverse Engineering Prohibited

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code, models, system prompts, security logic, or internal APIs.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with authentication, authorization, rate limiting, quotas/credits, usage metering, or other protections.
• Attempt to access or extract data that is not yours (including other users' chats, datasets, exports, or account details).
• Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration tests, or security research against the Service without written authorization.

3) Abuse of Compute, Storage, and Scheduling Prohibited

You may not:

• Create or attempt to create infinite loops, extremely long-running jobs, runaway recursion, uncontrolled retries, or other behaviors intended to consume resources.
• Run intensive back-to-back schedules, automation, or scripts intended to overload infrastructure or bypass limits.
• Upload files repeatedly in a loop, intentionally bloat storage, or attempt to exhaust file upload, storage, or processing quotas.
• Use the Service as general-purpose compute (including crypto-mining), as a benchmark/stress test tool, or for unrelated batch processing.

4) Malicious Content and Harmful Behavior Prohibited

You may not:

• Upload malware, exploit code, or any payload designed to compromise the Service or third parties.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the Service (including denial-of-service attempts).
• Use the Service for illegal activities, fraud, or to violate the rights of others.

5) Misuse of Accounts

You may not:

• Share accounts, sell access, or provide the Service to others as a bureau service/reseller unless we expressly authorize it.
• Attempt to create accounts in bulk, use bots to access the Service, or evade enforcement (for example: by creating new accounts after suspension).

6) Enforcement

To protect the Service and other users, we may:

• Apply rate limits, throttling, or temporary holds;
• Remove content or disable features;
• Suspend or terminate accounts; and/or
• Report illegal activity to relevant authorities, where required.

We aim to apply enforcement proportionally, but serious violations may result in immediate suspension.

To report abuse or suspected security issues, contact support@chronicles-ai.com with relevant details (screenshots, timestamps, and your account email).
